Dr. Nick Gabriel completed his general surgery residency at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University in Brooklyn and then a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. He has held Directorships of Minimally Invasive Surgery as well as Bariatric Surgery at different hospitals in New York. Currently, he holds a position on the executive board of the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
Besides routine laparoscopic procedures for gallbladder, hernia and appendix, Dr. Gabriel also specializes in surgeries for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, disorders of the stomach including tumors, ulcers and gastroparesis, small bowel and colon disorders, disease of the spleen, pancreas and kidneys. He was one of the first surgeons to perform laparoscopic gastric banding in the New York area.
As an educator, Dr. Gabriel teaches and performs laparoscopic surgeries nationally and internationally.
He has appeared on the Discovery Health Channel, CNN “Anderson Cooper 360”, ABC Eyewitness News, UPN-9 News and has been featured in Newsweek, as well as other local newspapers, and magazines for “first of its kind” laparoscopic procedures in various institutions.
